Megadeth - Gigantour 2012
For those wishing their tympanum of the ears to be blown over by hard core metal music, there’s great news. Megadeth has announced the dates of the Gigantour 2012 – one of the most awaited metal concerts across the globe. Gigantour 2012 will tour cities in US and Canada lead by thrash metal giants Megadeth and accompanied by British metal icons Motorhead, Danish rock and roller Volbeat and Italian gothic metal outfit Lacuna Coil. This is the first time that all these four bands are coming together to perform for a single concert.
The tour is scheduled to kick start on the 26th of January at Susquehanna Bank Center, New Jersey and travelling through major American and Canadian cities like New York, Quebec City, Montreal, Chicago, Edmonton, California before coming to a close at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver on the 28th of February. The tour features 24 performances through the span of 32 days. This is the seventh Gigantour to take place after its start in the year 2005 when Megadeth took the stage in the US with heavy metal rock giants such as Fear Factory, Anthrax and Nevermore. The tour was organized by Megadeth’s lead vocalist and guitarist Dave Mustaine after he was evicted from Metallica. The bands that play in the concerts are chosen by Dave himself as he wants metal music being performed by positive bands in a high energy environment.
Gigantour 2012 would be a highly anticipated tour for metal lovers across US and Canada as it most importantly features Megadeth, one of the prolific metal bands in the world. The band was formed in 1983 by vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine, bassist Dave Ellefson and guitarist Greg Handevidt. In the late 80’s the band was considered one of “The Big Four of Thrash” along with Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax.
